You’ll be tapping your toes when you hear this lively duo with its big, warm sound — featuring Nelda Swiggett on piano and vocals and Clif Swiggett on trombone and percussion. This married couple has played music together since the night they first met in 1987. Their duo together, the little BIG Band, debuted in 2013. They’ve performed at jazz clubs, private parties, weddings, and concert venues around the Northwest, and love to share their joy of music with all audiences. The little BIG Band plays hundreds of songs, crossing genres including classic jazz and swing standards, lively Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms, and funky hits by Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones and more — all freely interpreted in the moment by this nimble and fine-tuned partnership.

Join us Thursday November 17th, from 6pm-9pm, for an amazing 5 course dinner, prepared by Chef Russell Lowell at Russell's in Bothell, paired with award-winning wines from Northwest Cellars. This is a fundraiser for Old Friends Club, and 100% of your ticket price will be donated. Northwest Cellars will match your ticket price, so $500 per person will be donated. Thank you to Russell's for donating the space, the food, and the food service. There will be music by recording artist Brittany Jean . And Founder Karen Koenig will talk about the programs, and answer questions. Old Friends Club offers a unique and affordable social day program for those living with dementia, and respite for their caregiver. Our Member families call  it “life-changing” but we cannot do it without funding. The need is great, and growing. There are currently 120,000 people living with dementia in Washington State alone. Enjoy wine tasting and seasonal treats, meet a Summit Dog in training and get a picture taken with Santa ‘Paws’ by the incredible Julie Austin, award-winning pet photographer. You can also enter your dog(s) to compete in ugly sweater and doggie kissing contests for prizes! Summit Assistance Dogs trains highly skilled service dogs for people living with mobility disabilities, and you can help Summit create these life-changing human-canine partnerships. A portion of ticket and Summit logo wine sales from this event will support Summit’s mission. Tickets are $70 per person at the door or $60 online in advance, so make sure you buy early online and don’t miss out on this fun holiday gathering! Don came to Seattle in 1974 to sing with Seattle Opera.  He became one of their National Artists in 1976 and was with the company as a leading baritone until 1980.  He continued his career over the next 30 years, ultimately transitioning to musical theater.  He’s performed with numerous theaters in Seattle including: ACT, TAG, The 5^th Avenue and The Village Theatre.
